SIGN UP here for the “catch and release” CRABBIES COMPETITION at PORTCHESTER SAILING CLUB on the 8th June 2025!

FREE entry & FREE line, bait & bucket. All Crabs will be released at the end of the event.

Registration on-site from 08:00 AM and looking forward to give you your lines & buckets.

Location:  PORTCHESTER SAILING CLUB, Waterside Lane, Castle St, Portchester PO16 9QN

The competition will start at 10:00 and finish at 12:00 – prize giving at 12:45

Rules:

  • You may crab for the full duration or just as long as you want
  • Prizes will be awarded to the greatest weight of crabs caught
  • In the event of a tie, winner will be the person who has weighed its catch first
  • Top 10 to receive a prize from our great sponsors LOWRANCE, CREWSAVER, YETI 
  • Lowrance merchandising are available as raffle prizes for those who collect litter. 
  • Crabbies comp – open to all, but prizes awarded only to children under the age of 16
  • Prizes will only be given to competitors who are present at prize-giving

Donations will be accepted on site in support of FreeSpirit – a new community boat, that will enable people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the ocean, recreational activities, and engage in sustainable practices (Suggested donation £2 per person)

SHORELINE CLEANUP

 

Following the prize giving, participants have the opportunity to complete a Shoreline Cleanup. Collect litter and bring the filled bags back to the event desk to receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win Lowrance merchandise prizes. One ticket will be given for each filled bag returned. Bags will be provided during registration. The cleanup is open to all, with no age restrictions.

Date: Sunday 8th June 2025 – 1 PM

Premier Marinas, Sea Angling Classic, and Veolia are teaming up for a community coastal walk and litter pick around the Portchester on Sunday, 8th June – and we’d love for you to join us!

We’ll be cleaning along the coastline around Portchester Castle and Wicor Marina, ending at Premier Trafalgar Wharf. Gloves, litter pickers, and bin bags will be provided, but we do encourage volunteers to bring their own if possible.

🎣 Taking part in the Sea Angling Classic? This is a great way to complete your Shoreline Cleanup entry requirement!

Please register every individual attending — employees of Veolia and Premier Marinas, don’t forget to use your work email when signing up.
